We reserve the right to ban anyone from our facility if we determine the rules are being broken.
- Liability Waiver: Everyone MUST sign a liability waiver before participating in the session. Anyone under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian's signature on the liability waiver.
- Etiquette and Respect: Always display good sportsmanship, and respect your training partners. No abusive behavior will be tolerated.
- Hygiene: Ensure that your gi or no-gi attire is clean and in good condition before every session. Long hair must be tied back, nails should be short, and all open wounds must be properly covered. DO NOT train if you have ANYTHING that is contagious or resembles a contagious condition.
- Uniform: Participants must wear appropriate attire - gi or no-gi depending on the session. No jewelry, shoes, or socks on the mat.
- Safety: Tap early and often. The open mat is not a competition, but a learning environment. Don't treat it like a competition. There is zero reasons to hold submissions longer than necessary and to harm those training with you.
- Control: Use controlled movements to avoid unintentional harm.
- Rest Between Rounds: Make sure to take breaks and hydrate when needed. If you feel dizzy, light-headed, or extremely fatigued, stop and rest.
- Guidance: If you have any questions or need help, ask an instructor or experienced person. Don’t try dangerous moves without proper supervision.
- Use of Facilities: Treat the gym facilities with respect. Clean up after yourself and help keep the communal areas tidy.
- Personal Belongings: Keep personal items in designated storage areas. Revel Jiu Jitsu is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
